On 29/6/2021, UNESCO Capacity Building and Heritage Policies Unit and the Directorate for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission organized the closing public webinar of the two-year joint UNESCO-EU project «Teaching and learning with living heritage: Lessons learnt from a UNESCO-EU Pilot project» (1 June 2019-30 June 2021) https://ich.unesco.org/en/engaging-youth-for-an-inclusive-and-sustainable-europe-01051 
Ralleio teacher and UNESCO coordinator Ms Aikaterini Christodoulou participated as a discussing panelist at the international webinar and presented the curricular project "Rebetiko: Integrating living heritage in the daily teaching practice of Greek Literature, English as a Foreign Language, ICT and Physical Education", which was implemented in the framework of the above mentioned joint project. We are proud to say that Ralleio was the only European school (of the ten which participated in the joint project) to be selected to present "Rebetiko" as best teaching practice and model recommendation for the design of living heritage- based teaching material for transformative school-based education to the approximately 300 attendees form all over the world.

The international public webinar ended with closing remarks and congratulations by Ms Catherine Magnant, Head of Cultural Policy Unit, European Commission and Mr Tim Curtis, Secretary of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, UNESCO.
