Ralleion Geniko Lykeio Thileon Pirea ,after the initiative and under the coordination of Mr Georgios Katopodis and Mr Panagiotis Markopoulos, Biologists, Biology Teachers in Ralleion, in cooperation with the Panhellenic Association of Bioscientists organised the 9th Annual Biology Conference ?Society meets Modern Biology? in Pireas on 13th and 14th February 2015. The conference was organised in collaboration with the Directorate for Secondary Education of Pireas and the Laboratory Centre of Natural Sciences of Pireas.

The subjects of the conference included a variety of modern Biology issues, such as:

• the role of DNA in modern criminology
• DNA tailored made treatments
• Endocrine Disrupting Substances
• Ageing and age related diseases
• Brain function
• Sleep

The speakers were distinguished University Professors and Researchers whose work in the field of Biology has been highly acclaimed.

The conference was attended by many Secondary Education teachers and students from various schools in the prefecture of Pireas.
