In the framework of the European Erasmus+ KA1 Program "CULT: Sustaining and Empowering our School Culture" (2023-2025), the second mobility to attend a structured seminar took place from 23rd February to 1st March 2025. Ralleio Assistant Director Georgios Panopoulos attended the seminar “From Global Priorities to School Projects: Focus on Sustainable Development and Citizenship Education” in Rome.
The seminar focused on the following thematic areas: introduction to the social development sector, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and initiatives, Global Citizenship Education in schools, Project-based learning (PBL) and its Golden Standard and Drafting a PBL project plan.
As a member of European and international networks, our school, awarded the Sustainable School Label 3 times so far, has included in its culture and has been working systematically on inclusion, digital teaching, Education for Sustainability and Global Citizenship through the implementation of projects and by integrating the afore mentioned educational priorities in the daily teaching of many subjects since the 1990’s. In order to sustain the holistic school culture and the extrovert nature of the school and to transmit them both to the permanent members of staff and to the ones who serve with temporary placement in the school, it is necessary to train teachers in order to update their knowledge and act as peer mentors to promote in specific ways and through the appropriate tools the key priorities of the Erasmus+ program and the school culture of Ralleio Lykeio to the benefit of the final recipient, i.e. Ralleio students.
