As part of our school's European Erasmus+ KA1 program “CULT: Sustaining and Empowering our School Culture” (2023-2025), the third teacher mobility took place from March 2nd to March 8th, 2025, for the purpose of attending a structured seminar. The school's Principal, Nikolaos Zarkadoulas, participated in the seminar titled "The Democratic Life in the EU: Teaching Citizen Rights and Duties" in Amsterdam.
Specifically, the thematic sections of the seminar included: The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the connection between rights and duties from various perspectives (individual, group, social, national, international), rights and duties within the context of the European Union, and collaboration for the development of a model for designing school curricula that integrate rights and responsibilities.
As a member of European and international networks, our school, which has been certified three times with the Sustainable School Badge, incorporates into its culture and works systematically on inclusion, digital teaching, Education for Sustainability, and Global Citizenship by implementing programs and integrating them into the daily teaching of various subjects, both through methodology and content, since 1990. To maintain the holistic school culture and extroversion of the school, and to pass this on to colleagues serving either permanently or temporarily, the professional development of teachers is considered essential. This ensures they update their knowledge and serve as mentors for their peers, using specific methods and tools to promote the key priorities of the Erasmus+ program and the school culture of Ralleio, for the ultimate beneficiaries, i.e., the students.
